Canada BashingCanadians really get off on bashing Americans. That’s for sure. There’s a popular perception out there that only by distancing and differentiating ourselves from Americans can we really come to terms with our own identity. That’s why I was interested to read an essay by Jeremy Rifkin in the Walrus this month. It looks at how Canada and the so-called blue states could become a more interesting grouping than either country itself. However, the real point of this entry is to link to a cut-together view of what Canada bashing looks like. (Think the most offensive speaker is well informed? think again.)
