David Emerson

I’m going to be Stephen Harper’s worst enemy
    — David Emerson 2006-01-231.

I think the fact that Mr. Harper has reached out to someone like me is an indication that they are becoming a middle-of-the-road party, and I think I can be helpful in moving in that direction.
    — David Emerson 2006-02-072.

It’s not that I believe that MPs should be prohibited from crossing the floor. And it’s not that it’s bad for the NDP who will have the balance of power now (as long as Milliken stays the speaker). But I just think that crossing two weeks after you could have very well run for the Conservatives, after having beaten the Conservative candidate by 12 000 votes, and with no “issue of principle” prompting the move: this stinks.

Jeez

With enemies like that, who needs friends?

yep...

...perhaps the voters in the riding have something to say about this? i think i would be pretty pissed off personally!

constituency rip-offs

Just in case anyone thought that folks drawn to the Conservative Party have some sort of monopoly on high moral standards, it seems ambition trumps again... Being democratically elected doesn't seem to be a priority for Harper and his gang. If I were a legitimately elected Conservative passed over for a cabinet post, I'd be pretty ticked off!

David Emerson - a solution for Kingsway voters

Citizens’ rights, Emerson and Harper – Class action lawsuit needed?

For those voters in Vancouver Kingsgate who are angry about Emerson’s unilateral decision to overturn the results of the federal election in their riding, consider this:

1. You are a citizen of Canada.
2. Your citizenship rights are protected in the Constitution, especially in the Charter of Rights, and by centuries of common law.
3. You have a right to protect your constitutional rights.
4. Harper and Emerson have denied you your rights as a citizen of this country.
5. Instead of just calling for Emerson to resign, why not establish a fund to pay for lawyers to launch a class action suit on behalf of the voters of Vancouver Kingsway, seeking a court order directing Mr. Emerson to cease and desist from representing that riding until such time as he stands for election as a Conservative?

Stand up for your rights.
Take back your rights.
Don’t just get mad; get even with Mr. Emerson.
