Funding Drive: Thank YouI want to thank everyone who pledged/donated to CKCU through me. Kevin, Kevin, Mum, Dad, Chris, Jen, Alia, May, Dan, Erin, Barb, Bob. Thanks to you all I’ve exceeded my $200 goal, raising $240 for the station. I’m listening to Chopper McKinnon’s Canadian Spaces show right now. On the air for 25 years, it has been a major factor in the success of great artists; Jane Siberry’s emotional speech at the Ottawa Folk Festival in 2003 confirms that for sure. Chopper just said that his third show ever was a funding drive show, and it’ll be my third show tomorrow morning as I begin the on-air portion of my first funding drive. Who knows if I’ll still be on the air in 25 years. But it’s all good so far. In any case, I feel very good about the pre-pledges I’ve brought in, and it’s all thanks to you the donors. Now there’s only one thing left for you all to do: tune in for 52 weeks and get your money’s worth. You’ve earned it.
