Cracked post
Rich got a tip-off to an active beaver lodge on the outskirts of town. The beaver jokes have been flying fast and furious. In any case, we went out looking for beaver, but came up empty handed in that department. I did get a couple of good shots that I like. This is the second of two.

This was the end of a post on the boardwalk. When end-grain dries, it shrinks more radially than it does in circumference. The cracking and air gaps make up the difference. It's a classic pattern, and one I've always liked.
