Norse 2
Here is the second night photo taken last weekend. After having spent 45 minutes taking the first batch I went back to sleep. I woke up later in the night needing to get up again; before leaving the tent I swore to myself there would be no more photography. Then I opened the tent flap and saw a crescent moon rising over a now-clear sky. So, sigh, out comes the tripod again.

One thing I've noticed in photographing the moon is that it is very hard to capture its shape in a landscape composition. The moon was perhaps a quarter full, but you can't tell from this shot. Earlier in the day I'd been discussing lens hoods with another photographer. I never use one. I am a sucker for lens flare.
