Sap
To celebrate the miraculously warm weather we drove out to Wheeler's sugar bush yesterday, along with our friends Aura Lea and Bryon. We arrived just in time for a big feed of pancakes and syrup. So much sap flowed yesterday that the staff there were planning to stay most of the night to boil it down, emptying their tanks in anticipation of the bumper crop expected today. Before leaving we had a quick jaunt in the woods. I like the concept of this shot, the tapped tree with its sap line and the boiling in the background. Looking at it now I can see how a little time and planning could improve it, finding a vantage point that could show the sap distribution lines as well as this feeder line would really strengthen the story. Still, I like this picture.
